Have you ever thought about the science behind sports? Campers will learn the biology behind why athletes drink sports drinks rather than water as well as what our lungs do differently after running. Physics is explored when we learn how center of gravity affects athletic activities such as dance, gymnastics, and skiing. Have you ever thought about how the length of your toes might affect how you play baseball or where the "sweet spot" is on a baseball bat? Discover the answers to these questions and many more in this camp that is sure to keep you moving. We will spend time looking at how optical illustions fool the mind into seeing something different that what is there. We will also explore the process of producing images of objects on sensitized surfaces by the chemical action of light and other forms of radiant energy. If we get some extra time on the last day, we might also carve out some great demonstrations that explore nature. A $75 Materials fee is payable to the instructor the first day of camp.
