Two things that can get in the way of family connections are fear and guilt. Too often, we set the intention of being a compassionate parent, but at the end of the day wonder how we ended up in another power struggle. Are you constantly worried about screwing up your kids? Using the Emotionally Focused Family Therapy model, you will learn skills to transform your parent child relationship. You'll explore how to validate strong emotions like sadness and anger, build your child's confidence, strengthen your communication skills and how to stay calm during a power struggle. You'll also use the Parenting Dimensions Assessment to discover your personal areas of growth. Registration covers one or both parents. Materials fee: $5 per person.
