This is an all-levels yoga practice focusing on nature's elements. Each class will be a different sequence with adjustments for students who want additional alignment support. Mats and props will be provided.

Summer is a great time to enjoy yoga, sunshine and HORSES!  This workshop will begin with a Vinyasa Flow on the mats, building up to working with modified poses on the horse.  No previous yoga or horse experience necessary.  This workshop is intended to be safe and fun while exploring your connectedness to your body through the horse.  Please bring a yoga mat and basic bath towel.

Learning about herbal medicine is a great way to take control of your own health. This workshop will introduce you to a number of herbs that are easy to find or grow here in Colorado. Topics will include the uses of herbs, common ailments that can be improved with herbal remedies, how to grow and cultivate medicinal herbs, and how to formulate blends. Participants will have the opportunity to explore different herbal preparations and will learn how to make herbal medicine, including teas, tinctures, infused oils, and salves.

If you've ever wondered about all the spring flowers you see when you're hiking, then you are ready to take a fun-filled walk on Open Space trails to learn flower identification skills. During the hike there will be discussion about flower families, and the many uses for flowers. Come and discover how these beautiful plants are named. The hike will be approximately three miles with an elevation gain of 400 feet and start from the Chautauqua Dining Hall. Wear sturdy tennis shoes or boots and bring water and rain gear. No pets, please.

Wing Chun is a fighting hand founded by a woman, Yim Chun, 400 years ago in China.  This training system provides distinctive senstivity teaching methods practicing Chi Sau, a system of basic exercises known as "hands."  The first form, "Sui Nam Tao" will focus on skill development for beginning students and provide the basis for learning how to use both arms and hands simultaneously in the execution of techniques.  Please wear loose clothing and gym shoes.

Two of the most common areas of the body for pain and tension are the hips and lower back. Soreness in these areas can be a source of decreasing mobility as we grow older, but greater flexibility can mean a more comfortable and active life. This class will focus on the yoga poses that can gently open up these areas while decreasing tightness. There is tremendous energy that is often trapped by tension in the lower back and hips and this yoga practice will help you unleash a calming energy for a more holistic experience. Please bring a mat, pillow and blanket to the class.
