This beginning class offers a comprehensive introduction to the German language, including basic grammar and conversational skills. An interactive class environment with an emphasis on group learning will facilitate your learning experience. The instructor will address vocabulary pertinent to travel in German-speaking countries. Before attending class, please purchase the book, German Grammar, 5th Edition, Schaums Outline, available at the Boulder Bookstore.

The focus of this class is the acquisition of basic Spanish language structures and vocabulary through kinesthetic strategies that reflect first - language acquisition, which makes retention more intuitive and allows students to connect Spanish directly to the spatial/social world instead of to the English translation.  Educators will be able to apply these basics to on-the-job communications with students, parents and co-workers. Necessary materials will be available electronically. To earn credit, the educator needs to complete 15 of the 18 scheduled hours of class time and 15 hours of documented related assignments outside of class. No class on Oct 31; makeup class on Nov 1.
