You've noticed the numerous misspellings, typos, and errors in punctuation and grammar in newspapers, magazines, advertisements, resumes, business correspondence, and online media. You also know that spell-checking programs don't catch all the errors. If you have a passion for correctness and are an astute and careful reader, consider a career as a proofreader. In this entertaining and informative two-session class, you will be introduced to professional proofreading marks, become familiar with resources that proofreaders use, test your skills on a challenging exercise, and learn about opportunities for employment or a freelance career as a proofreader.
