Do you love the idea of walking out into your backyard and collecting fresh eggs for breakfast? Does the thought of keeping chickens intimidate you? Springtime is the time of year to get your own chicks or chickens to keep for eggs. This course will teach you everything about breeds of chickens, daily care and nutrition, proper coop space, chicken health and more. Students will select and incubate their own chicken eggs for hatching, learn to raise their chicks and even take them home at the end of the course! A $40 materials fee, which covers a backyard chicken starter kit and locally born chicks, is payable to instructor at first class. Please note dates of class are 3/4, 4/1 and 4/29 so students can learn the different phases of chicken care.

This casual workshop format course is designed to encourage potential home buyers to engage in discussion and ask questions about the home buying process. Topics that will be covered include: national and local market conditions, how to financially prepare for the home buying process, the cost of renting versus owning, how to determine what you can afford, suggestions on choosing the right realtor, tips on managing your credit, and discussion of a general homebuying timeline.

Gain a basic understanding and proficiency in three different welding methods. This beginning level class will cover Oxy-Acetylene welding and cutting, Flux-core Wire Feed/MIG welding, and traditional Arc (Stick) welding. General metal shop safety will be stressed and students may work on small fabrication or repair projects as time permits. A $30 materials fee for all welding supplies is payable to the instructor at the first class.
