Nanotechnology involves the design, characterization, production and application of structures and devices at dimensions approaching those of molecules.  From ancient Rome and medieval artisans using gold and silver nanoparticles for glass coloring to today's electronic, medical and other applications, this session overviews this interdisciplinary field.
