Have fun dancing and stay fit, too with Irish country set dancing! These are not Riverdance solo steps, but social ballroom dancing, a popular form of folk dancing from Ireland, sometimes called "country sets," based on quadrilles, European court dances transformed by the Irish into lively folk dances unique to rural communities. The popularity of the dance faded with rise of rock 'n' roll in the 1950s, but in the '80s, sets were revived. No partner is required.
