Copy editors possess a rare set of skills, including a sensitivity to the nuances of expression, a desire to help writers create the best prose they can, and a firm grasp on grammar, syntax, and usage. If you have wondered what copy editors do and the role they play in the world of publications, join us in an exploration of this little-known profession. After you have been introduced to both the practical and philosophical aspects of copyediting, you will have an opportunity to edit a short passage and to learn about starting a freelance career. A $3 materials fee is payable to the instructor at class.
