ClassGraphic If you’ve got a story to tell and have dreamed of writing for magazines or other print or online media, this class demonstrates how to break into the media world as a paid freelance writer. Learn where to find ideas, how to refine them, how to pitch your idea to an interested editor and increase the chances of having your story chosen for publication. We'll identify article ideas and magazines, TV or even radio to pitch your stories. We discuss style guidelines, what editors expect, and ways to ensure your query letter gets read by the right editor. This interactive class allows time for writing a first draft of a query letter so bring an idea or two you'd like to write about. Bring a laptop if you want to follow along in real-time. A $3 materials fee is payable to instructor.
