ID : 13774
« back to classes page
This four-hour intermediate copyediting class provides participants an opportunity to practice and advance their skills on selections from a nonfiction manuscript. The material will be sent in advance (by email or snail mail if time permits), and students are urged to edit the exercise before class to facilitate the review. As a group, we will discuss the editing challenges and compare our work. Students should have completed introductory copyediting classes or have mastered basic copyediting skills, including the creation and use of a style sheet and querying the author. Students are encouraged to bring a dictionary, a style manual, and other resources of their choice to class.  Students may perform the edit using Track Changes or other online editing systems. No materials fee if material is printed in advance of class; otherwise it is a $3 materials fee payable to instructor.
