Poetry! Flash fiction! Totally true tales of derring-do!  Do you love to write?  Do you love all things paper?  Have you ever wanted to self-publish a self-made, hand-made book?  Have you ever wanted to jam out a poem or a story on stage at a mic?  Welcome to OPEN SESAME, a workshop in creative writing, bookmaking, and open-mic performance.  You’ll write to your heart’s content, create a zine or two, and get up on stage at a local coffee shop to read your work to a real audience.
ZINE (n.) a small-circulation, self-published, hand-made work of original writing, art, etc.
OPEN MIC (n.) a stage session at a café or club during which anyone is welcome to read, recite, sing, or otherwise perform original art.
OPEN SESAME (magical phrase) the magic words in One Thousand and One Nights that open the mouth of a cave that conceals stolen treasure.
