Screen printing, also known as silk screening, is a printing technique that uses a stretched woven mesh as a tool for applying ink, dye or paint to fabric. Screen printing techniques, which range from precision images to wildly spontaneous color combinations, are the best tools for applying color to fabrics. We'll explore stenciling that can be used for multiple repeated images, but that is only the beginning! Screen printing also lends itself well to mono-printing, reduction prints, over dyeing and more. You'll do plenty of experimentation before creating a final composition. No experience necessary. Materials fee: $20.
