Geared for young drivers and their moms, aunts or guardians, come learn about basic auto maintenance and ask all your pressing automotive questions. You will learn about battery care, automotive fluids, tire changing tips and techniques, and more in this hands-on auto shop crash course. Wear clothes you won't mind getting dirty, closed-toe shoes, and be sure to pull back long hair. A $20 materials fee, payable to the instructor, covers your tire pressure gauge, pocket screwdriver, and safety glasses. Adult and child safety waivers are required for this class. Students will learn plumbing repair for kitchen and bathroom sinks and faucets, shower controllers and heads, toilets, garbage disposals, and drains.  This is a hands-on session (so wear appropriate clothes) that will also give a primer on the proper tools needed for such repairs.

Afraid of do-it-yourself electrical repairs? Empower yourself (and save big bucks!) by learning how to diagnose problems and make basic electrical repairs in your home. Students will learn how to reset and replace circuit breakers, fuses, and ground fault current interrupters (GFCIs), switches, dimmers, smoke detectors, bathroom fans, broken light bulbs and fluorescent tubes. This is a hands-on session and will include a primer on the proper tools needed for electrical repairs, as well as safety considerations. An $8 material fee is payable to instructor at first class.
