The Mountain Lions Cross Country Fall running program provides a fun and encouraging environment for Elementary school-aged children to learn the basics of Cross Country running over a 6-week period. They will learn good running form, improve both strength and endurance, while in an environment focused on the enjoyment of running. The fun and the informative environment will include form drills, warm-ups, stretching techniques, conditioning exercises, distance training, cool-downs, and running games. Each participant will receive a technical shirt.
Mountain Lions is a proud partner of Lifelong Learning, and all of our running programs are held at Elementary schools within the Boulder Valley School District (BVSD). Practices are held twice a week after school, with one “introductory to XC racing" on Saturday, October 12th at Nevin Platt Middle School included in the program. At the end of the 6-week program, all participants have the option to compete in the inaugural "Colleen De Reuck Cross Country Classic" to be held on Friday, November 1st.
