« back to classes page
ClassGraphic Alcohol inks provide a variety of vibrant and creative possibilities! Manipulate ink on ceramic tiles, glossy photo paper, metal and glass to create brightly colored images and flow of design. Create coasters, unique glasses, jewelry, coffee mugs and cards that are unmistakably yours. Alcohol inks are an acid-free, highly pigmented and fast drying medium that can be used on non-porous surfaces. They will stain, so wear art clothes or bring an apron to protect clothing. A materials list can be found by contacting instructor at Approximate cost will be $15.

Please read:  Alcohol Inks: These can be purchased at any hobby/craft store for around $10 for a pack of three colors. I suggest getting two packages of varying colors. They come in small bottles but it doesn’t take much. I usually use Jim Holtz or Adirondack brands. Tiles/Photo Paper: Alcohol inks only work on non-porous surfaces. For this class, we will be using ceramic tiles and photo paper. The tiles can be purchased at Home Depot or similar store. They are not expensive – usually $.33 – $1.50. They are the tiles that go on a backsplash or counter and can be found in the tile department. White works best. Get 3 tiles, any size you would like. I will supply the photo paper. Rubbing Alcohol: Get a bottle of Isopropyl Rubbing Alcohol at the highest alcohol content available. Walgreen’s has 91% and occasionally I can find 99% - but not very often. A materials list can be found by contacting instructor at Approximate cost will be $15.
