The 30 hours of interactive curriculum is approved by the State Department of Motor Vehicles and will use lectures, group discussions, games, and small group activities to teach the rules and regulations of driving. In addition to covering all of the state-mandated requirements and preparing students for the driving permit test, your teen will also learn about basic car maintenance, how to change a tire, and what to expect on a traffic stop. There is a short orientation for parents on how to be a "home driving instructor" for your teen. Prepare them for a lifetime of safe driving with TopCops driving instructors who have the 'real-life' advantage. Students must be at least 14-1/2 years old to take this class. The permit test will be administered on the last day of class if students are within 30 days of their 15th birthday. If they are not within 30 days of their 15th birthday, they will receive a hand out with dates on when to return. There is an invaluable 30-minute orientation for parents on the first day of class.
