It’s peak harvest season AND time to plant your fall garden! We’ll learn how to tell when your produce is ripe and ready to harvest and how to prepare fresh garden snacks or preserve it to enjoy later. Want to keep your garden growing in the fall? It may still be hot, but our farmers are already planning for cool-season crops. We’ll provide you with the seeds you need to keep the food flowing. Each day we’ll share activities and knowledge that explore the seasonal transition and help you prepare for cooler temps in the garden. We’ll also share how to put your garden to bed at the end of the season so you’ll be off to a great start next spring! The Full Farmer Package comes with all of the online resources and a supply basket that can be picked up from Growing Gardens.
A typical daily schedule will include:
- 2 zoom calls with our Environmental Educators and fellow campers
- 2 video lessons with fun, hands-on activities
- 2 theme-related crafts
- 1 snack recipe
- 1 scavenger hunt or bingo
- 1 activity for the whole family
We anticipate that the planned camp activities will take approximately 4 hours each day.
