PLEASE NOTE CHANGE OF TIME FROM WHAT IS LISTED IN CATALOG. Beginners and calligraphers of all levels who wish to hone their skills will study italic lettering, a time honored style developed in the 1500's and still very popular today.  All the while principles of good lettering are being presented, we introduce basic layout and design to enable you to create a finished piece. Students should bring a Speedball C-2 pen (LC if left handed) and pen holder, Higgins Eternal Ink and a pad of Bienfang Calligraphic practice paper. Additional supplies will be suggested in class, or contact the instructor prior to class for a list.

Create the beauty of flowers in still life while learning the concepts and technical applications of contour drawing. You will also learn how to create compositions that emphasize strong color relationships. This class will focus on still life flower images beginning with a drawing demo and then instructor-led supervision. After the lunch break, there will be a short painting demo prior to creating your own watercolor still life. Using only a pen and paper, we will learn an art form that offers a way to de-stress, relax, problem solve, and experience peacefulness and well-being through creativity and fun. Inspired by Zentangle®, we will start with the basics and progress to more intricate designs to create cards, tags, framed art, illustrated journals and more.
