Does your student learn better in a small group setting? Small group tutoring and individualized instruction will allow students to master tested skills in this four-session, 12-hour intensive course. The course will be limited to a maximum of eight students, and mandatory homework is assigned that uses questions drawn from real tests. Additional, one-on-one phone conferences with the Instructor take place every week outside class, with each student deciding which problems they want to discuss.  The conferences help to ensure that every student gets concentrated, focused, individualized attention. Students will learn the best strategies to achieve high scores on each of the three “Revised SAT” sub-tests (Essay, Evidence-Based Reading and Writing, and Math), with in-class practice and discussion of questions missed.  Each of the four classes covers one or more different sub-tests; the final class features a general review of all three sub-tests, additional timed testing, and final preparation for the exam. Stress reduction tips and "mindfulness meditation" concentration techniques are taught throughout the course, so that students can learn to minimize their anxiety and improve their ability to focus on the day of the real exam.
